Madison Park Breakfast Gin

SAQ#: 13535864
Price: $48.25
Made in: Quebec, Canada
By: 1769 Distillery

A new gin from Montreal, Quebec with bergamot and infused in the end with a blend of teas to give it its amber colour. If you are an Earl Grey tea drinker like me, you will love the smell with bergamot, lemon notes like lemongrass. The taste has these touches of this tea, but smoother. A little warming, but not too intense. This is quite a different gin that is real interesting… and very worth trying.

Marquis de Méricourt Dry White Wine

IGA#: N/A
Also found in Metro stores in QC.
Price: $10.49
Made in: Canada
By: Marquis de Méricourt

A cheap white blended Canadian wine found at the local IGA store. Big 1 litre bottle. The smell is not bad at all. Fruity with the grapes and mixed with apples. The taste has the fruitiness as well and seems not bad at that point. Then, the watery finish comes too soon. Some dryness, and is actually not bad with food (see pic – enjoyed with equivalent quality).

This microdistilled gin from Quebec, Canada has a blend of juniper, coriander, angelica, lemon peel, cardamon and… parsnips. The aromas are mild with a mix of gin and vodka. More going on in the taste that reveals the gin side, but nicely balanced. Stays mild for a while and the heat takes longer to kick in. The parsnips is lightly felt in the lingering. An interesting addition and good to sip on its own. Or mix.
