This champagne gives out yeasty aromas with hints of old fermenting orange juice. The taste is quite sour with some citrus notes, but not much else. Mild yeast giving a nutty feel lingers in the aftertaste. Really nothing special about this one. Another wine from France that they probably do not like, so they export it to another country. Lucky us !!

Had a craving for a Cabernet Sauvignon tonight, and enjoyed a white Santa Rita Reserva last week, so tried this one. Black cherry aromas with mild leather. The taste has plums and other dark fruits. Decent tannins for the mouthfeel. Not a bad red wine for the price, but lacking Cab Sauvignon finesse. Not really good with food, but decent alone.

This Ontario Sparkling is a blend of Vidal and Riesling. Sweet aromas of peach, citrus and light yeast. The mouthfeel is slightly syrupy with the sweetness of the peach and other tropical fruits. Same taste as the nose. Very light dryness in the finish, but wet overall. All nicely balanced with some sourness. Interesting bubbly for those who like it on the sweet side, but not as sweet as muscatos.

The semillon takes a little over the usual fruity aromas of the Sauvignon Blanc. It is more on the sweet side of thing, reminding us of some Chardonnay. The mouthfeel is wet with just a tad of dryness in the finish. Sweet, sour and zesty with flavours. Citrus, grapes and other refreshing fruits. Great with the salad we just had. Alright nose, but great balanced flavours. Really good for the price.

This higher-end Sauvignon Blanc for Santa Rita has beautiful fruity aromas of grapes, apples, citrus and mild pears. Wet mouthfeel at first with a crisp middle and a little dryness in the finish. Nicely balanced fruits (grapefruit notes) with light sourness, lingering a tad. Quite refreshing for those warm summer nights and decent with food.
