One of the most carbonated bubbly we have had so far. Results, hard to pour. Only a bit at a time. Cork was hard to hold down. Yeast smelling, with eventual mild notes of honey and berries. Pretty sour taste at first, but then, a little sweetness appears. Hints of strawberries that finish short, with just a tad of yeast lingering. The middle has this bland grape flavour which is pretty dull and inappealing. Nothing close to being worth the price this is.

Price: $13.95
Made in: Ontario, Canada

Varietal: Sauvignon Blanc

The nose is quite mild with fruit, like apples, grapes and hints of pears. Wet mouthfeel with a little dryness, but a decent crisp overall. The taste is also mild, but gets better with food (or as it gets warmer and breath). Citrusy with just a tad of sourness, all balance by the sweetness of the fruits. Not overly punchy, but yet, a nice easy drinking Sauvignon Blanc that is refreshing.

Lots of yeast comes out of the glass after the pour. Eventually breathes out and the aromas are quite on the citrus side, with loads of lemon. The taste is pretty sour at first, followed by some sweetness, then a mild dryness to finish with a little tart from the yeast. Not a bad sparkling, for those who prefer them sour, more than dry. Just a little unbalanced overall.

Arboleda Carmenère 2010

Price: $14.75
Made in: Valle de Colchagua, Chili

Deeper in colour than most wines with some red-violet. Mild leather-tobacco aromas with some spicy dark fruits. The mouthfeel is kind of dry, with some very light tannins. Again, some nice spicy dark fruits with dates, raisins and mild berries. Goes down easily, but yet packs some good fruity and spicy punch.
