At first pour, the smell seems not very well-balanced with lots of sweetness and some sourness to the extreme. With time, things get better between them. The sweetness shows apples notes, the sourness calms down with some light yeast. The taste is pretty sweet, but not really syrupy, so quite acceptable. Hints of peaches are present with some decent dryness in the finish, but well-blended with some wetness. The finish is pretty short. Very mild yeast sticks on the tongue. Quite an easy-drinking Sparkling. Nothing too fine, but a safe bet to bring at any casual party.

Jané Ventura Reserva de la Musica Brut Nature

The head of this Spanish Sparkling is a little more creamy than most, staying a little longer. Mostly apples in the nose with some hints of sugars and yeast. Overall pretty sweet, fruity, but the taste has something else to tell. More on the sour side with the light sugars appearing in the finish. Some decent bitterness balances this and the yeast lingers in the aftertaste, living a mild nutty note on the tongue. Not bad, but was expecting much better. Not sure if past its prime.

Apothic Dark

Always nice to try a new Apothic wine and this one is found in Canada. Nice label, dark which always appeals to us and even the cork is black with the Apothic logo in white, on it. The wine is a real dark red. Lots of berries in the nose with some hints of leather and burnt wood. The mouthfeel is pretty nice some decent tannins, dryness in the finish. Good mild sweetness, but overall some bitterness with the blueberries, blackberries and light sourness in the end. Was expecting to be too rich and full of vanilla but no. This is quite a decent mass-produced wine.
