Beringer Founders’ Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

LCBO#: 534263
Price: $18.05
Made in: California, USA
By: Beringer Vineyards
Year: 2015

A Californian Cabernet Sauvignon with sweet aromas of blackberries, plum, sugars and hints of vanilla. The flavours are on the sweet side as well, but not syrupy. More on the wet side with not much of a finish. With food though, the dryness comes out. Even some tannins. Nice cherries as well. Not bad for those who prefer the sweeter red wines that are easy to drink. Missing some punchiness for a Cabernet Sauvignon. And the tobacco and leather.

Yellow Tail Bubbles

LCBO#: 229039
Price: $13.95
Made in: South Australia, Australia
By: Casella Wines

This inexpensive South Australian sparkling white wine is always a good one to get as well-balanced, easy-drinking on its own or as a mimosa. The white head is almost creamy, lasting longer than most bubbly. Fruity white grape aromas with citrus notes and hints of apples. Flavours of sweet fruitiness, mild sourness and light dryness in the finish. Yeasty acceptable aftertaste. Yep, don’t mind this for the price.

Stoneleigh Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

LCBO#: 293043
Price: $17.95
Made in: Blenheim, New Zealand
By: Brancott Estate Ltd
Year: 2016

This New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc gives out big fruity nose with grapefruit notes at first. Then the grape kicks in. The taste is fruity as well with some sweetness at the beginning, then some light sourness. All well-blended with some very light yeast tart in the finish. The finish is a little short, but what a great refreshing fruity white wine that is quite easy to drink. Not too sweet, just feels right overall… so when on special, jump on this one.
