Marquis de Méricourt Dry White Wine

IGA#: N/A
Also found in Metro stores in QC.
Price: $10.49
Made in: Canada
By: Marquis de Méricourt

A cheap white blended Canadian wine found at the local IGA store. Big 1 litre bottle. The smell is not bad at all. Fruity with the grapes and mixed with apples. The taste has the fruitiness as well and seems not bad at that point. Then, the watery finish comes too soon. Some dryness, and is actually not bad with food (see pic – enjoyed with equivalent quality).

A beautiful presentation with the unique bottle and classy label. Apple and grape aromas with some banana notes and hints of melon. All good from there, but the taste brings this down a notch. Starts milder, but does get a little stronger. Not much in there though. Alcohol, apples, light honey and some yeast in the finish. Dry, yes, but not much else in this one. Ok, if you like a mild tasting bubbly.

Found this one at the LCBO, written this was the most popular white wine sold there. We can see why after smelling and tasting a few sips. Very well balanced between the dryness, sweetness and sourness. The aromas are fruity and slightly reserved compared to other Pinot Grigio, so less candy fruity, but real nice perfumes. The taste is where it shines. The regular flavours of fruitiness found in Pinot Grigio, but just very well-blended all-around. Well recommended as a full classy fruity white wine.

We like these Crémant de Limoux Sparkling and this one is no exception. Sweet fruity nose with some apples, grapes, sour citrus and hints of peach. Mild creamy mouthfeel and not too dry. The taste is very well-balanced between the sweetness, the sourness and the light dryness. At first, this bubbly is more on the sweet side, but with time, it goes on the sour side. The yeast is very well-blended in all departments making this one a winner. Highly recommended for easy drinking in the under $20 range. Would buy more.
