Bellissima Prosecco Brut

Read something about this bubbly being promoted by Christine Brinkley, but I guess being in Canada never heard about this. An Italian Sparkling with an eye-catching bottle. Aromas of the grapes gives out out fruitiness and mild sourness, with hints of apples and pears. Crisp mouthfeel which does get a little thick and tarty on the tongue. This is where my beef is with this one. Yeast does lingers. Raisin notes in the taste eventually appear. Not one I would have again, especially for the price. Sorry Christine.

Mionetto Prosecco Prestige Collection

LCBO#: 483339
Price: $17.00
Made in: Veneto, Italy
By: Henkell & Sohnlein Sektkellereien
ABV: 11%

This Italian Prosecco has mostly fruitiness in the nose with the white grapes and apples. Lots of sweetness blended with hints vanilla. Flavours seems to be mostly on the dried raisins side of things. So, not as sweet. Just fruity. Seems like the raisins take over the apples and grapes in the nose as well. Light sourness in the finish. Nothing offensive, but nothing too prestigious.

This Italian sparkling gives out lots of apple notes. Fruity aromas of apples. Not too sweet, not too sour with hints of pears. The taste starts off with apple sweetness, very light honey in the background and a nice sour finish does appear slowly as the sips go on. The yeast is nicely mild in here. Seems like nothing too special at first, but does show character as it goes. If you love apples, this one is for you.

Apples, apples, apples. Yes, this beautiful Italian sparkling is full of apples. Everywhere. And there is nothing wrong with this. Yellow apples in the nose with the pear hints. These apples are also in the taste. A little yeast on the tongue in the finish, but nicely balanced. A decent dryness in the mouthfeel. Crisp and refreshing. All-around well done. Quite like this one… and my cat loved liking the chilled bottle.

This Italian Sparkling wine is always a good one to get at the LCBO. Brunello Imports makes it easy to get this in Ontario. Aromas are sweet and fruity with apples and hints of pears. Thankfully, the taste is not as sweet. Just fruitiness with some decent dryness. Yeast lingers on the tongue. This bubbly is nothing too crazy, too out of this world… but very well-balanced overall.

Wow ! This Italian sparkling is quite the treat !! The yeast is not as strong as most bubbly, so well-hidden. This shows the fruits better. Beautiful aromas of pears over apples, giving some nice sweetness from the grapes. The taste starts off sweet, but not syrupy, and because of the dryness, the mouthfeel is great. Notes of sourness. Hints of vanilla a little everywhere. Superbowl Sunday… hence the football caps in the pic (ok, wrong team, but someday). This is a fantastic bubbly that is totally awesome for the price. Would have this any time.

Tenuta S. Anna Prosecco Extra Dry

This Sparkling from Italy gives out a big sweet smell at first, but disappears after breathing, releasing some mild sourness, dryness and light sweetness from the grapes. The nose is quite well-balanced at that point. The taste unfortunately is not. Pretty mild tasting with the same as aromas but more apples than grapes. The sweetness does get stronger with time. Roasted and toasted notes in the finish. Light nutty yeast lingers. Alright, but not worth the price.
