A beautiful presentation with the unique bottle and classy label. Apple and grape aromas with some banana notes and hints of melon. All good from there, but the taste brings this down a notch. Starts milder, but does get a little stronger. Not much in there though. Alcohol, apples, light honey and some yeast in the finish. Dry, yes, but not much else in this one. Ok, if you like a mild tasting bubbly.

This Italian Sparkling wine is always a good one to get at the LCBO. Brunello Imports makes it easy to get this in Ontario. Aromas are sweet and fruity with apples and hints of pears. Thankfully, the taste is not as sweet. Just fruitiness with some decent dryness. Yeast lingers on the tongue. This bubbly is nothing too crazy, too out of this world… but very well-balanced overall.

Pretty surprised that this bottle had no cork. Only a beer bottle cap. Was expecting an explosion and then, a huge overflow. But no. Nothing. Had time to take the cap off slowly that was attached by a sticker strip. Once poured, looked like a regular sparkling with a bubbly head. The nose gets stronger as it warms up, showing some sharp dry grapes with hints of sweetness, even honey. Dry mouthfeel, but nicely balanced. The taste is lighter than what the scent gives out. Still, good citrus, apples with mild sourness and some sweetness. The yeast is almost hidden. Quite surprise at this one. Especially for the the price and being from Italy.

The white head of this Italian Sparkling has longer retention than most. Yeasty nose with some sweetness and sourness from the grapes. Hints of honeydew after breathing and some burnt fruit skin. The taste is well-balanced with the fruits (grapes, apples), yeast (tartiness), sourness (citrus), sweetness and some decent dry mouthfeel. A good above-average Sparkling with just a little too much yeast lingering in the aftertaste, for our likings. Better for the price out there, but still good.

Celebrating our first day on the deck of 2015. It’s been a long, bad winter. This makes us happy. Along with the sun, this Sparkling gives out aromas of yeast, but the apples take over quickly. The same fruit is found in the taste well-blended with the grapes. Starts sweet, goes through some sourness to finish a little dry with some yeast tart on the tongue. An easy drinking, well-balanced above average Sparkling. Well recommended for a group bubbly gathering.

Last week, we tried another Sparkling from the same region, and this one is pretty close to it. Aromas a little sweeter with some honey over the apples and mild yeast in the background. The taste is sweet, but not as much as the nose. Made to drink colder, like the previous. Apples, honeydew and yeast in the finish. Easy to consume and to present at a gathering.

This Italian Sparkling starts off with the typical yeast aromas, which disappear after breathing and releases a sweet, sugary nose with apples and hints of dryness. This continues in the taste without being way too sweet, with notes of peaches and honey. The body is still thicker than wanted, not helping the dry mouthfeel, but at least not too, too syrupy. Because of this, needs to be real cold to enjoy. Not our favorite to drink this way, but overall well-balanced for a simple, easy-drinking Sparkling. Enjoy real, real cold.
