Domaine du Tariquet Sauvignon

LCBO#: 484139
Price: $13.95
SAQ#: 00484139
Prix: 13.55$
Made in: Eauze, France
By: Château du Tariquet
Year: 2015

This French Sauvignon gives out mild, kind of weird, citrus aromas. The taste is much better with the Sauvignon Blanc flavours. Citrus, light grassiness with nice fruitiness. Decent dryness, but the finish is quite short. Nothing exceptional, but refreshing as should be. A little too tarty and mild overall.

Jackson-Triggs Sauvignon Blanc

imageLCBO#: 399410
Price: $10.10
Made in: Ontario, Canada
By: Jackson-Triggs Vinters

This Sauvignon Blanc is cellared in Canada from imported and domestic wines. The Proprietors’ Selection is their less expensive, easy-going wines. Not as fruity as most Sauvignon Blanc, but it does get there with time. Woody aromas with light alcohol, smoke hints and the grape fruits. The taste is also fruity, but has some bitterness, dryness. Alcohol and the wood. Very reasonable cheap Sauvignon Blanc, but there is better for the price from Chile, South Africa.

Rex-Goliath Cabernet Sauvignon

Price: $6.99 (US)
Imported and bottled by Constellation Imports (from Chile)

Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Had this on our last trip to Nashville. Liked the logo, but was not being too optimistic about it, as the price was pretty low. After liking it, decided to rate this one on this trip to Vegas. Mild Cab nose with some watered-down leather and so-so grapes. Where it gets a little better is the taste. It is because vanilla notes are added to the fruit. Unlikely oak at this price, but nonetheless, pretty good for the cheap price. Still, not a winner by any means. Bodega Norton is the one to bring to someones’ party.
