Baileys Strawberries & Cream

LCBO#: 551598
Price: $30.95
Made in: Ireland
By: R & A Bailey & Co Ltd

A new limited edition of Baileys – Strawberries & Cream. As we like our Baileys cream in our coffee, this one is no exception if you do like the creamy strawberry stuff. Aromas are exactly what you expect with the strawberry notes, the creaminess and light alcohol. The taste is much of the same with a nice berry fruitiness over the sweetness, balanced by the cream. Very good on its own, or in your morning warm beverage. Comes with a recipe to do a colada with coconut rum or vodka. This one is much better than the salted caramel version they did not long ago.

Jackson-Triggs Pinot Grigio

jt-pinotLCBO#: 621110
Price: $10.95
Made in: Ontario, Canada
By: Jackson-Triggs Winery
Varietal: Pinot Grigio

Might be known as Unity Pinot Grigio and this one we have has no dates (year) on it. Written blended from international and Canadian wines. Light pear aromas and medium-light body. The mild pear is also in the taste with notes of lime creating some very light sourness in the finish. Alcohol is also felt in the aftertaste. A pretty decent affordable fruity white wine, but a tad too mild and there is better for the price from other Southern American countries.

Santa Carolina Reserva Chardonnay 2012

Price: $11.95
Made in: Chile
By: Vina Santa Carolina
Varietal: Chardonnay
2012

Part of the Casablanca Estate Reserva series (aged for 6 months in french oak barrels). Golden colour with full, fresh fruity (pears, grapes) and sweet aromas. The taste really comes out with food. Without it, slight watery finish. With it, well-balanced between the sweetness and mild sourness. All fruity with hints of alcohol. One of the better Chardonnay we have had, and a sure thing for the price. Was good with the creamy pastas we had.

Dry mildly fruity nose. Dry mouthfeel with decent tannins. Smooth fruity taste. A very well-balanced Cabernet Sauvignon. Great inexpensive wine that is worth having a few bottles in the cellar.
