Celebrating the end of 2018 with this Rosé, thanks to friends sharing this one. Clean pink colour with strawberry nose and hints of cherries and mild alcohol. The mouthfeel is pretty dry. Very mild taste of strawberries and yeast lingering. Some well-blended bitterness. Quite easy to drink with everything nicely balanced.

Château Lamartine Cahors Cuvée Particulère 2014

LCBO#: 441238
Price: $23.25
Made in: France
By: SCEA Chateau Lamartine
Year: 2014

A French red wine which is blended from 90% Malbec and 10% Tannat, enjoyed in Sudbury, Ontario. Dry spicy nose with lots of the Malbec giving red grapes notes, hints of molasses, and a tad of leather. Flavours start on the fruity side with some sweetness, then giving some dryness in the middle to have a touch of sourness. The finish is pretty short as tannins are quite light, but do get better and better. Mild dark fruits are well balanced in here. Very nice!

Bouvet Crémant de Loire Excellence Brut

LCBO#: 303636
Price: $19.95
Made in: Loire, France
By: Bouvet-Ladubay

This Crémant de Loire is pretty much all apple notes for scent with hints of grape sourness and leather. The taste is also fruity with the apples and grapes. Nicely blended between the sweetness, mild sourness and light dryness. All well-balanced, but nothing crazy outstanding for this French bubbly. There are better Crémant out there for the under twenty dollars range.

Chantilly French Cream

LCBO#: 424044
Price: $30.05
Made in: Ontario, Canada
By: Maverick Distillery Limited

Comes in a beautiful, very classy black bottle with everything that says – French (just like it is written French Cream). The only thing, this is made right here in Ontario. Very nicely done as the typical butterscotch notes are present, with the hints of cherries and almonds. Light alcohol shows, but not too excessive. Same in the taste but the chocolate shows up here. Smooth, silky mouthfeel with some nice nuttiness. Everything here is well-done, except the price usually represents imports. Maybe because the sugars are organic. Still, not sure what alcohol they use in this one. Will retry though.

Château le Puy Emilien 2013

Price: $29.95

This French red wine is a Vin Fin de Bordeaux wine. Lots of wood in the nose with full berries in the aromas. Cherries, raspberries, strawberries. Very smooth mouthfeel with nice dry tannins. Still, lots of cherries with berry notes. So easy to drink, with lots going on, but all well-blended with some beautiful wood notes.

Mausberg Crémant d’Alsace

LCBO#: 171785
Price: $17.95
Made in: Alsace, France
By: Sica Baron De Hoen

This Crémant d’Alsace has a huge warm head that has good retention for a Sparkling. Beautiful fruity aromas from the grapes, well-balanced with the light yeast and some citrus notes. Nicely dry in the finish. Again, the grapes, citrus and mild yeast for taste. Well-blended between the fruitiness and sourness. This is quite a nice bubbly all-around. Would definitely have again.

Domaine du Tariquet Sauvignon

Price: $13.95
SAQ#: 00484139
Prix: 13.55$
Made in: Eauze, France
By: Château du Tariquet

This French Sauvignon gives out mild, kind of weird, citrus aromas. The taste is much better with the Sauvignon Blanc flavours. Citrus, light grassiness with nice fruitiness. Decent dryness, but the finish is quite short. Nothing exceptional, but refreshing as should be. A little too tarty and mild overall.
